John Francis Russell, 7th Earl Russell (born 19 November 1971), is a British hereditary peer, photographer, and Liberal Democrat politician.
It was created on 30 July 1861 for the prominent Liberal politician Lord John Russell. [1] He was Home Secretary from 1835 to 1839, Foreign Secretary from 1852 to 1853 and 1859 to 1865 and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1846 to 1852 and 1865 to 1866.

Originating in Dorset, the family first became prominent under the Tudor sovereigns, John Russell (died 1555) being created earl of Bedford for his part in suppressing a rebellion in 1549 against the Protestant innovations of Edward VI’s reign.
