  2. Dr Anugrah Sinha was a statesman and a follower of Gandhiji who firmly believed in Gandhian policies. He is often referred to as the “mason of modern Bihar and its politics”, as his political journey is said to have shaped Bihar’s political history.

  3. Sinha was an ardent follower of Gandhi who inspired him to join the Indian independence movement. He led satyagraha movements in Bihar. He was an active member of the Congress Party. In 1922 he helped organise the Gaya Congress. A year later, he became one of the General Secretaries of the All India Congress Committee.

In 1946 he was appointed as the member of the Constituent Assembly.After independence he became the first Finance Minister of Bihar. Anugrah Narayan Sinha was given the title -- Bihar Bibhuti.
