George Cholmondeley, 3rd Earl of Cholmondeley, KB, PC ( / ˈtʃʌmli / CHUM-lee; 2 January 1703 – 10 June 1770), styled as Viscount Malpas from 1725 to 1733, was a British Whig politician and nobleman who sat in the House of Commons from 1724 to 1733.
On his death the titles passed to his son, the third Earl. He was a politician and held office as Lord Privy Seal and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. [1] He was succeeded by his grandson, the fourth Earl. He was the son of George Cholmondeley, Viscount Malpas.

He succeeded his brother as 2nd Earl of Cholmondeley and 3rd Viscount Cholmondeley 18 January 1724 or 1725. He was Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Anglesey, Caernarvonshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Merionethshire and Montgomeryshire and held these posts until he died.
