George Purdy Radanovich (born June 20, 1955) is an American politician and former U.S. Representative for California's 19th congressional district, serving from 1995 to 2011. [1] [2] The district includes most of northern Fresno , as well as several rural areas northeast of the city.
In 1982, George began growing grapes in Mariposa County and in 1986 he opened the Radanovich Winery, the first winery in the region. He was the first winemaker to serve in Congress since Thomas Jefferson. George served as a member of the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors from 1988 to 1992.
George Radanovich (Republican Party) is running for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 8. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024 . He advanced from the primary on March 5, 2024 .
