Seferbiy Zaneqo [2] [a] (1798 – 1 January 1860) or Sefer Pasha was a Circassian diplomat and military commander who served as the 5th leader of the Circassian Confederation from 1859 to 1860. He took part in the Russo-Circassian War both in a military and a political capacity.
Prince Sefer Bey Zanuko (d. 1860) was probably the most famous and well documented Circassian leader during the war against Russia in the first half of the nineteenth century. Nevertheless, no thorough research has been carried out to date on him in English.
