Laurent de Gouvion Saint-Cyr, 1st Marquis of Gouvion-Saint-Cyr (French pronunciation: [loʁɑ̃ də ɡuvjɔ̃ sɛ̃ siʁ]; 13 April 1764 – 17 March 1830) was a French military commander in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars who rose to the rank of Marshal of the Empire.
Laurent Gouvion, marquis de Saint-Cyr, souvent dit Gouvion-Saint-Cyr, né le 13 avril 1764 à Toul et mort le 17 mars 1830 à Hyères, est un maréchal d'Empire et homme politique français.
Laurent, marquis de Gouvion-Saint-Cyr was a French soldier and statesman who distinguished himself in the Napoleonic Wars (1800–15). As minister of war in 1817–19 he was responsible for reorganizing recruitment procedures in the French army.
