  5. Graf Levin August Theophil von Bennigsen war ein Offizier aus dem niedersächsischen Adelsgeschlecht der Bennigsen. Er stand zunächst in kurfürstlich-hannoverschen Diensten und wurde später General der Kavallerie der russischen Armee. Er gilt als Initiator und Mitverschwörer des Attentats auf Zar Paul I.
