General John Campbell, 4th Duke of Argyll, KT, PC (c. 1693 – 9 November 1770) was a Scottish military officer, Whig politician and peer who sat in the British House of Commons from 1713 to 1761.

General John Campbell, 4th Duke of Argyll was born circa 1693. He was the son of Hon. John Campbell and Elizabeth Elphinstone. He married Hon. Mary Bellenden, daughter of John Bellenden, 2nd Lord Bellenden of Broughton and Lady Mary Moore, in 1720.

General John Campbell, 4th Duke of Argyll KT. John Campbell was born in 1693 the son of Hon John Campbell of Mamore. He joined the army at an early age and was a lieutenant-colonel by the age of 19. He was a brigadier-general in 1743 in which year he fought with distinction at Dettingen.
