Lieutenant General Troy Houston Middleton (12 October 1889 – 9 October 1976) was a distinguished educator and senior officer of the United States Army who served as a corps commander in the European Theatre during World War II and later as president of Louisiana State University (LSU).

Troy Middleton, president emeritus of LSU and for whom the main library on campus was named from 1979-2020, was a division and corps commander in World War II. The most important battle in which he led troops was the Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, which took place between December 16, 1944 and January 25, 1945.
