Giovanni Messe (Mesagne, Apulia; 10 de diciembre de 1883-Roma, 18 de diciembre de 1968) [1] fue un general y político italiano durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Giovanni Messe (10 December 1883 – 18 December 1968) was an Italian field marshal and politician. In the Second World War, he was captured in Tunisia but made chief of staff of the Italian Co-belligerent Army after the armistice of September 1943. Later, he was an elected representative in the Italian Senate.

Giovanni Messe. . He was born on 10 th December 1883 in Mesagne (BR). He joined the Army in December 1901 as a volunteer and continued the career as First Lieutenant until 1910; since then he attended the Special Course for Non-Commissioned Officer Students in Modena and was promoted First Lieutenant of the Infantry Army.
Giovanni Messe was born near Brindisi. A veteran of WW1, in the next great war he led Italian troops in Ethiopia, Albania, and Greece. From 17 Jul 1941 to 9 Jul 1942, he led a corps of Italian soldiers ( Corpo di Spedizione Italiano in Rùssia) in the Eastern Front.
