Martin Bladen Hawke, 2nd Baron Hawke (20 April 1744 – 27 March 1805), was a British peer and politician. Background[edit] Hawke was the son of Admiral Edward Hawke, 1st Baron Hawke, of Scarthingwell Hall, near Tadcaster, and of Catherine, the daughter of Walter Brooke.
Hace 2 días · Edward Hawke, 1st Baron Hawke was a naval officer of the Royal Navy. During the War of the Austrian Succession he was promoted to rear admiral. In the Seven Years' War, Hawke replaced Admiral John Byng as commander in the Mediterranean in 1756.

In 1757, he took part in the expedition against Rochefort, commanding the 74-gun battleship Dublin. After an initial success, the expedition made no serious attempt on Rochefort and sailed for home.
