Stanisław and Konstancja Poniatowski. Princess Konstancja Czartoryska (c. 1696 or 29 January 1700 – 27 October 1759) was a Polish-Lithuanian noblewoman and the mother of King Stanisław August Poniatowski. She played a political role as a driving force within the Familia (political party).

History. The Czartoryski family is of Lithuanian descent from Ruthenia. [8] Their ancestor, a grandson of Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, became known with his baptismal name Constantine ( c. 1330−1390) - he became a Prince of Chortoryisk in Volhynia. [9]
