Margareta Slots or Margareta Cabiljau (died 1669) was the royal mistress of king Gustav II Adolf of Sweden and the mother of his illegitimate son Gustav of Vasaborg. Margareta Slots was the daughter of the Dutch merchant Abraham Cabiljau and Maria van Leest. [1]

Her story is an example of the pragmatic approach to – and to some degree tolerant view of – extramarital affairs in the upper social classes at the time. Margareta Slots died in 1669. Her grave lies in Vada church in Uppland.

He was a son of King Gustavus Adolphus (Gustav II Adolf) and his mistress Margareta Slots. In 1626 he was enrolled at Uppsala University . In 1633, during the Thirty Years' War , Gustav entered the Swedish military service and the next year was appointed Lutheran Administrator of the Prince-Bishopric of Osnabrück .
