Ferrante III Gonzaga (Mantua, 4 de abril de 1618-Guastalla, 11 de enero de 1678) fue un noble italiano, tercer duque de Guastalla desde 1632 hasta 1678. Biografía. Hijo del duque César II Gonzaga de Guastalla, se convirtió en su sucesor a partir de 1632.

Ferrante I Gonzaga (also Ferdinando I Gonzaga; 28 January 1507 – 15 November 1557) was an Italian condottiero, a member of the House of Gonzaga and the founder of the branch of the Gonzaga of Guastalla.
This altarpiece was commissioned for the Theatine church of Guastalla in 1650 by Duke Ferrante III Gonzaga (1618–1678) in celebration of Luigi Gonzaga (born 1568), who resigned his inherited title of marquis and joined the Jesuit order in Rome in 1585.
Cuando Ferrante III murió sin herederos varones sobrevivientes, el Ducado de Guastalla pasó a formar parte oficialmente del Ducado de Milán, pero fue gobernado por Ferdinando Carlo de Mantua (esposo de la hija mayor sobreviviente) entre 1678 y 1692.
