Betty Louise McCollum ( / məˈkɒləm / mə-KOL-əm; born July 12, 1954) [1] is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Minnesota's 4th congressional district, serving since 2001.
Ms. McCollum: Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to Republicans using Police Week to push divisive legislation in the House that takes away local control from communities, weakens gun safety laws, and dehumanizes immigrants.
Betty McCollum is a Democrat representing the families of Minnesota's Fourth District in the United States House of Representatives. In 2000, Congresswoman McCollum made history as only the second Minnesota woman elected to serve in Congress since statehood in 1858.
