John Wright Hickenlooper Jr. (/ ˈ h ɪ k ən l uː p ər / HIH-kən-LOOH-pər; born February 7, 1952) is an American politician, geologist, and businessman serving as the junior United States senator from Colorado since 2021.

John Wright Hickenlooper II (1952– ) is a Colorado businessman and politician who served as mayor of Denver from 2003 to 2011 and forty-third governor of the state from 2011 to 2019. In 2020 Hickenlooper was elected to the US Senate.
As Mayor, John worked to expand mass transit, reduce crime, tackle climate change, and improve educational opportunities for Denver students. In 2010, John ran for Governor and helped to move Colorado from ranking 40th in job creation to leading by example as the number one economy in the nation.
