Erin Suzanne Houchin (/ ˈ h aʊ tʃ ɪ n / HOW-chin; née Mount; born September 24, 1976) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Indiana's 9th congressional district since 2023.
As a mother, community leader, and small business owner, Erin is dedicated to serving the 9th district to better the lives of all Hoosiers who call it home. Erin currently serves on the House Financial Services Committee, the House Rules Committee, and the House Education and Workforce Committee.
In 2014, Erin defeated a powerful 26-year incumbent Democrat and was elected to the Indiana State Senate, where she served until 2022. She quickly and consistently proved herself as a strong conservative fighter as she passed legislation to protect the unborn, defend the Second Amendment, and support law enforcement.
