Paul Gerhardt (* 12 de marzo de 1607, Gräfenhainichen - † 27 de mayo de 1676, Lübben) fue un himnógrafo o escritor de himnos religiosos protestantes alemán, el más importante de su época. Paul Gerhardt (12 March 1607 – 27 May 1676) was a German theologian, Lutheran minister and hymnodist . Biography. Gerhardt was born into a middle-class family at Gräfenhainichen, a small town between Halle and Wittenberg. [1] . His father died in 1619, his mother in 1621. At the age of fifteen, he entered the Fürstenschule in Grimma.
