Stanisław Karnkowski herbu Junosza (ur. 10 maja 1520 w Karnkowie, zm. 8 czerwca 1603 w Łowiczu) – biskup kujawski od 1567, arcybiskup gnieźnieński i prymas Polski od 1581, sekretarz wielki koronny od 1563 roku [1], sekretarz królewski, pisarz polityczny i religijny, mówca. Jako senator wziął udział w sejmie zwyczajnym 1601 roku [2] .

The book collection amassed by Primate Stanisław Karnkowski and regarded as one of the wealthiest Polish libraries in the late 16th and early 17th century comprised 322 books, according to Stanisław Rybandt’s estimates from 1992. 22 more books from the second interrex’s collection were found during a search conducted in the Archdiocesan Archives in Gniezno in 2012–2017.
