Topham Beauclerk (/ b oʊ ˈ k l ɛər / boh-KLAIR; 22 December 1739 – 11 March 1780) was a celebrated wit and a friend of Samuel Johnson and Horace Walpole.
Topham Beauclerk was born on 22 December 1739, the only son of Lord Sidney Beauclerk and his wife, Mary Norris, and a great-grandson of King Charles II. He was christened on 19 January 1740 in St James', Westminster.

18 de abr. de 2012 · When Dr Johnson’s friend Topham Beauclerk died in 1780, his small collection of antiquities was sold along with a range of objects reflecting his interests in all branches of natural philosophy. Some of the antiquities came to the British Museum via Joseph Banks and Charles Townley.
