Francis Manners, 6th Earl of Rutland, KG (1578–1632) was an English nobleman. Despite a brief imprisonment for his involvement in the Essex Rebellion of 1601, he became prominent at the court of James I. He lived at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire.

FRANCIS MANNERS, sixth Earl of Rutland (1578-1632), second son of John, fourth earl of Rutland, nephew of Edward, third earl, and brother of Roger, fifth earl, was born in 1578. He seems to have been with his brothers under the care of John Jegon at Cambridge.
One of the most important English witchcraft cases took place in the Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire in 1618 when Francis Manners, sixth Earl of Rutland accused a group of six women of murdering his two sons, Francis and Henry by witchcraft.
Francis Manners was the second son of John Manners, 4th Earl of Rutland, and Elizabeth, daughter of Francis Charlton of Apley Castle in Shropshire. He was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge, where he was admitted with his brothers a Fellow Commoner in 1595.
