Ragnall mac Somairle (also known in Gaelic as Raghnall, Raonall, Raonull; in English as Ranald; in Latin as Reginaldus; and in Old Norse as Rögnvaldr, Røgnvaldr, Rǫgnvaldr; died 1191/1192 – c. 1210/1227) was a significant late-twelfth-century magnate, seated on the western seaboard of Scotland.
1 de ago. de 2022 · Raghnall mac Somhairle (Anglicisation: Ranald son of Somerled) (sometimes referred to as Reginald) (d.1207) was a son of Somerled and Ragnhildis, daughter of Olaf I of Man.[1] Raghnall succeeded his father, inheriting lands in Kintyre and Islay.[1]
When Ragnall Mac Somairle was born about 1148, in Morven, Argyll, Scotland, his father, Somerled MacGillebride King of the Isles, was 36 and his mother, Ragnhilda Olafsdottir, was 32. He married Fonia Moray about 1160, in Scotland.

Dubgall mac Somairle (died 1175) was an apparent King of the Isles. He was a son of Somairle mac Gilla Brigte and Ragnhildr Óláfsdóttir. Dubgall was a leading figure of Clann Somairle, and the eponymous ancestor of Clann Dubgaill. Dubgall's career is obscure, and little is certain of his life.
