Ashot II Bagratuni ( Armenian: Աշոտ Բ Բագրատունի) was the presiding prince of Armenia in 685–690, when the country was contested between the Byzantine Empire and the Umayyad Caliphate . Ashot Bagratuni's father was named Biurat or Smbat. [1] .
