Louisa Jane Hamilton, Duchess of Abercorn VA (née Lady Louisa Jane Russell; 8 July 1812 – 31 March 1905) was a member of the British aristocracy. She was the half-sister of Prime Minister John Russell, 1st Earl Russell.

Background and education. Born into an Ulster-Scots aristocratic family at Seymour Place, Mayfair, on 21 January 1811, Abercorn was the son of James, Viscount Hamilton, himself the eldest son of The 1st Marquess of Abercorn. His mother, Harriet, was the second daughter of The Hon. John Douglas, himself the son of The 14th Earl of Morton.
Biografía. Nació en 1864, como hijo de lord William Montagu Douglas Scott, VI duque de Buccleuch y lady Louisa Hamilton. Su hermano mayor, Walter Henry, conde de Dalkeith, murió accidentalmente durante la caza de un ciervo en el bosque de Achnacary. Ya que su hermano murió sin descendencia, el título de conde de Dalkeith pasó a John.
