Sin-shar-ishkun o Sinsharishkun (Acadio: ; "Sîn ha establecido al rey") fue el último rey asirio que gobernó en Nínive, la capital imperial. Ocupó el trono tras el asesinato de su hermano y antecesor, Assur-etil-ilani, y el breve reinado de Sin-shumu-lisir.
Antes de su nombramiento como rey de Asiria, Sin-Shar-Ishkun, que se autoproclamaba hijo de Assurbanipal, había ocupado Babilonia, circunstancia que provocó una guerra civil de cuatro años de duración al oponérsele su hermano, el rey asirio Assur-Etel-Ilani.

8 de jul. de 2014 · Sin-shar-ishkun, hijo de Asurbanipal, asesino de su hermano, termina ocupando el trono del convulsionado reino asirio. Evidentemente todo esta consecución de golpes y contragolpes de Estado, no podía tener resolución definitiva.
27 de sept. de 2018 · El nuevo rey era débil, sin embargo, y pronto estalló una guerra civil. Asur-etil-ilani fue depuesto por uno de sus propios generales, Sin-shumu-lishir, quien a su vez fue destituido por Sin-shar-ishkun, hermano de Asur-etil-ilani.
