Yaqub b. Uzun Hasan (Persian: یعقوب بن اوزون حسن), commonly known as Sultan Ya'qub (Persian: سلطان یعقوب; Azerbaijani: Sultan Yaqub سلطان یعقوب) was the ruler of the Aq Qoyunlu from 1478 until his death on 24 December 1490.
Uzun Hasan or Uzun Hassan (Azerbaijani: Uzun Həsən اوزون حسن; Persian: اوزون حسن; where uzun means "tall" in Oghuz Turkic; 1423 – January 6, 1478) was a ruler of the Turkoman Aq Qoyunlu state and is generally considered to be its strongest ruler.

They gained international significance under Uzun Hasan who became their greatest leader. He conquered the Qara Qoyunlu and defeated the Timurid Empire, thus adding significant portions of Iran to his kingdom. He eventually lost to the Ottoman Empire, weakening his kingdom.

14 de sept. de 2021 · In 1458 Uzun Hasan married as his fourth wife the beautiful Byzantine princess Theodora, daughter to the Emperor John Komnenos IV (r. 1429–1459) and niece to the Emperor David of Trebizond or Trabzon, a remnant of the Byzantine Empire that survived until 1461, when it too fell to Mehmet II.
