Daniel Carlsson Solander or Daniel Charles Solander (19 February 1733 – 13 May 1782) was a Swedish naturalist and an apostle of Carl Linnaeus. Solander was the first university-educated scientist to set foot on Australian soil.
Daniel Solander. Botánico sueco. Nació el 19 de febrero de 1733 en Öjebyn (ciudad vieja de Piteå ), Suecia. Cursó estudios de botánica en Uppsala bajo la dirección de Carl von Linneo. En 1759 viajó a Inglaterra, donde fue miembro de la Sociedad Real, la Academia Inglesa de Ciencias.

Daniel Solander is the most portrayed among the seventeen apostles. He is also internationally well known for the reason of his participation in James Cook’s first circumnavigation and close friendship to Joseph Banks.
