Morwen Bernard Thistlethwaite (born 5 June 1945) is a knot theorist and professor of mathematics for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He has made important contributions to both knot theory and Rubik's Cube group theory.

Thistlethwaite's 52-move algorithm. Morwen B. Thistlethwaite is a mathematician who devised a clever algorithm for solving the Rubik's Cube in remarkably few moves. It is a rather complicated method, and therefore cannot be memorised. It is only practical for computers and not for humans.
