Yuen Kwok-yung GBS JP ( Chinese: 袁國勇; born 30 December 1956) is a Hong Kong microbiologist, physician and surgeon. He is a prolific researcher, with most of his nearly 800 papers (as of December 2020) related to research on novel microbes or emerging infectious diseases.
Professor Yuen is one of the top 1% researchers in the world, as ranked by the Thompson Reuter Essential Science Indicator (ISI web) with over 110,000 citations. His field of interest is novel microbes in emerging infectious diseases.

Yuen Kwok-yung, is currently the Chair of Infectious Diseases of the Department of Microbiology of the University of Hong Kong. He is also the co-director of the state key laboratory of emerging infectious disease of China in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the founding co-director of the Hong Kong University-Pasteur Research Centre.

Professor Yuen Kwok Yung is the Chair in the Department of Microbiology and Henry Fok Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Hong Kong, and the co-director of the State Key Laboratory of Emerging Infectious Diseases since 2005.
