Biografía. Punnett nació en Tonbridge, Reino Unido, y se educó en Gonville and Caius College, de la Universidad de Cambridge, donde fue para inicialmente estudiar Medicina, pero se graduó en Zoología en 1898. Fue uno de los padres de la herencia genética.
Reginald Crundall Punnett FRS (/ ˈ p ʌ n ɪ t /; 20 June 1875 – 3 January 1967) was a British geneticist who co-founded, with William Bateson, the Journal of Genetics in 1910.

Reginald Punnett and William Bateson were among the first English geneticists. Punnett devised the "Punnett Square" to depict the number and variety of genetic combinations, and had a role in shaping the Hardy-Weinberg law. Punnett and Bateson co-discovered "coupling" or gene linkage.
