Stanley Alan Plotkin (born May 12, 1932 [1]) is an American physician who works as a consultant to vaccine manufacturers, such as Sanofi Pasteur, as well as biotechnology firms, non-profits and governments.

13 de abr. de 2017 · Stanley Alan Plotkin developed vaccines in the United States during the mid to late twentieth century. Plotkin began his research career at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he studied the rubella virus.

He’s even picked up a nickname—“the Godfather of Vaccines.” He developed a vaccine for rubella, which the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention credited with leading to the elimination of the disease in the US in 2005.
