The Cop and the Kid was a Syndication network sitcom series which aired from December 4, 1975 to March 4, 1976, lasting for one season & 9 episodes (leaving 4 of them unaired).
It was produced by Paramount Television.
The series centered on Frank Murphy, an unmarried, middle-aged, overweight beat cop from Los Angeles, California who is given custody of Lucas Adams, a street-smart, young black orphaned boy after Lucas is caught shoplifting.
