Émile Courtet, más conocido como Émile Cohl, fue un dibujante y animador francés, nacido en París el 4 de enero de 1857 y fallecido en Villejuif el 20 de enero de 1938. Fue uno de los pioneros de los dibujos animados. Alumno del caricaturista André Gill .
