Alain Daniélou (4 October 1907 – 27 January 1994) was a French historian, Indologist, intellectual, musicologist, translator, writer, and notable Western convert to and expert on the Shaivite branch of Hinduism.
Alain Danielou era un pensador solitario y no se le puede incluir en ninguna escuela occidental, ni política, ni filosófica, ni religiosa. Asimismo, se oponía a las ideologías más extendidas sobre todo al monoteísmo pero también al marxismo.
