L’abbaye royale de Saint-Corentin-lès-Mantes est une ancienne abbaye bénédictine de femmes, construite sur l'actuelle commune de Septeuil (Yvelines), au diocèse de Chartres. Elle a complètement disparu, un château est construit sur son emplacement au XIX e siècle [1].
Saint Corentin (Corentinus en latin), appelé aussi Kaourintin ou Kaour [1], est selon la tradition, le premier évêque de Quimper au V e siècle. Selon une construction littéraire et hagiographique tardive forgée à partir du XIII e siècle, il est considéré comme l'un des Sept saints fondateurs de Bretagne continentale.

Une ancienne abbaye bénédictine a été fondée par Philippe Auguste, l'abbaye Saint-Corentin-lès-Mantes en 1201 ; elle a disparu à la Révolution pour laisser place à un château construit au XIX e siècle [22]. Dans cette abbaye était enterrée Agnès de Méranie troisième épouse du roi
To judge by his entry in the cartulary of the abbey of Quimper, he is known to have been venerated at Locronan since at least the 1030s. [2] [3] At some later stage, his remains were translated to the nearby abbey of Quimper, whose patron saint was St Corentin.
He was the first bishop of Quimper. Corentin was a hermit at Plomodiern and was regarded as one of the seven founding saints of Brittany. He is the patron saint of Cornouaille, Brittany, and is also the patron saint of seafood. His feast day is December 12.
