Anne St Leger, Baroness de Ros. Anne St Leger (later Baroness de Ros; 14 January 1476 – 21 April 1526) was a niece of two kings of England, Edward IV and Richard III. Before she was eight years old, she had inherited a vast fortune and been disinherited of it.
Anne died giving birth to her only daughter by Thomas, Anne St. Leger (14 January 1476 – 21 April 1526), who due to the special remainder was heiress to the estates of her mother's first husband Henry Holland. She married George Manners, 11th Baron de Ros, and was mother of the royal favourite Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland.
Sir Thomas Saint Leger (1440-1483) was a Knight of the Bath and Ambassador to France. He married Anne of York, Duchess of Exeter. Upon Edward IV of England 's death in 1483, St. Leger was beheaded by Richard III of England. John St. Leger (died 1441) of Ulcombe was Sheriff of Kent in 1430.
Manners married, about 1490, Anne St Leger (c. 1475/6 – 21 April 1526), daughter and heiress of Thomas St. Leger by Anne of York, Duchess of Exeter, the second child and eldest surviving daughter of Richard of York, 3rd Duke of York, and Cecily Neville (1415–1495), daughter of Ralph Neville, 1st Earl of Westmorland.
Thomas was the son of Sir George Manners, 11th Baron de Ros (c. 1470 – 1513) by his wife Anne St Leger (1476–1526). His maternal grandparents were Sir Thomas St Leger (c. 1440–1483) and Anne of York (1439–1476), a daughter of Richard Plantagenet, 3rd Duke of York and Cecily Neville.
