East Bank, West Virginia (WV), a community on the Kanawha River in Kanawha County, was incorporated in 1889 and named for its situation east of Coalburg, a community which no longer exists, on an outcrop or "bank" of coal. East Bank had formerly been known as Hampton and Pryor.
