Ernest Augustus ( German: Ernst August; 20 November 1629 – 23 January 1698), Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, was Prince of Calenberg from 1679 until his death, and father of George I of Great Britain. He was appointed as the ninth prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire in 1692.

Ernesto Augusto I de Hannover ( Londres, 5 de junio de 1771- Hannover, 18 de noviembre de 1851) fue el penúltimo rey de Hannover, desde su ascenso al trono, en 1837, hasta su muerte, en 1851. Como hijo de los reyes Jorge III y de su esposa, Carlota, era príncipe del Reino Unido y fue creado duque de Cumberland y Teviotdale por su padre, en 1799.
Ernest Augustus was appointed as the first Elector of Hanover in 1692, but he died in 1698 before the Imperial Diet confirmed the elevation of Hanover to the status of an Electorate in 1708. His widow, Sophia of Hanover, was still known as Electress of Hanover. Their son was George I. Son of Ernest Augustus.
