Frederick, Prince of Wales (Frederick Louis, German: Friedrich Ludwig; 31 January 1707 – 31 March 1751) was the eldest son and heir apparent of King George II of Great Britain. He grew estranged from his parents, King George and Queen Caroline. Frederick was the father of King George III.
Frederick, Prince of Wales Frederick was the eldest son of George II and became Prince of Wales in 1729. He married Augusta of Saxe-Gotha-Altenborg, but he did not live to become king.

He was born at Stirling Castle on 19th February 1594. He was thought to have great promise as a Prince although he had violent anti-Catholic opinions.
