George Cubitt, 1st Baron Ashcombe, PC, DL (4 June 1828 – 26 February 1917) of Denbies House, Dorking, Surrey, was a British politician and peer, a son of Thomas Cubitt, the leading London builder and property developer of his day.

Henry was the only surviving son of George Cubitt, 1st Lord Ashcombe, and his wife Laura nee Joyce. George Cubitt built St Barnabas Church. and developed the Denbies Estate inherited from his father, building around 30 cottages, the School, the Rectory and the Dispensary .
George Cubitt was the first MP for the constituency of Epsom, which was established in 1885. Before that he had been MP for West Surrey since 1860. George lived on the Denbies Estate, Dorking in a grand house designed and built by his father, Thomas, in 1854.
