Innere Stadt is the central district of Vienna. It borders Leopoldstadt in the northeast, Landstraße in the east, Wieden and Mariahilf in the south, Neubau and Josefstadt in the west, and Alsergrund in the north.
Die Innere Stadt ist der 1. Gemeindebezirk und gleichzeitig Teil des historischen Kerns der österreichischen Bundeshauptstadt Wien . Bis zu den ersten Eingemeindungen 1850 war der Bezirksteil innerhalb der Ringstraße auch größtenteils deckungsgleich mit dem Stadtgebiet.

Innere Stadt is the city centre, with numerous historical sites and few residents. Leopoldstadt is the island between the Danube and the Donaukanal, with Praterstern, Vienna's most frequented traffic spot, and the Prater with Vienna's iconic Giant Wheel. Landstraße is on the right bank of the Donaukanal, and includes the Belvedere.
The Albertina is a museum in the Innere Stadt (First District) of Vienna, Austria. It houses one of the largest and most important print rooms in the world with approximately 65,000 drawings and approximately 1 million old master prints, as well as more modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings.
Das historische Zentrum von Wien ist neben dem Schloss und Garten von Schönbrunn eine von zwei UNESCO-Welterbestätten in der österreichischen Hauptstadt Wien. Das aus einer Kern- und einer Außenzone bestehende Gebiet umfasst 8,33 km². Die Ernennung zum UNESCO-Welterbe erfolgte im Jahr 2001.
