Jaime I de Braganza y Avis-Viseu (1479-20 de septiembre de 1532) [1] fue el 4º duque de Braganza y heredero interino de la corona en primera línea durante el reinado de Manuel I de Portugal, su tío materno.
Juan II ejecutó a Fernando II de Braganza, el tercer duque, bajo acusaciones de traición y correspondencia gravosa con el rey de Castilla. En consecuencia, las tierras de los Braganza fueron anexionadas a la corona y el heredero, Jaime, de solo 4 años, fue exiliado a Castilla.

In 1520, Jaime I married Joana of Mendoça, daughter of Diogo of Mendonça, High-Alcaide of Mourão. They had eight children, most of whom saw successful lives.
