3 de mar. de 2022 · In this study, term “suicide by hanging” includes deaths from suicide by hanging, strangulation and suffocation. Besides this, “suicides” include deaths from self-inflicted injury or intentional self-harm, but not those that are of undetermined intent.
After shooting, hanging was the second most common suicide method. Of the total sample of 6,249 suicides, 1,282 people (19.2%) died from suicide by hanging (see Table 1).
