Anton Profes estudia musicología en Praga. Desde 1916 fue director de orquesta en Carlsbad, Dortmund, Elberfeld, Konigsberg, Stuttgart, Hamburgo y Berlín. Trabajó desde 1921 como compositor independiente de canciones populares.
