Shoreline is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is located between the city limits of Seattle and the Snohomish County border, approximately 9 miles (14 km) north of Downtown Seattle. As of the 2020 census, the population of Shoreline was 58,608, [3] making it the 22nd largest city in the state.

Before becoming a city in 1995, the City of Shoreline was an island of unincorporated King County surrounded by the older cities of Seattle, Edmonds, Woodway and Lake Forest Park. Covering 11.74 square miles, Shoreline has a population of more than 56,000 residents.
Shoreline is one of Washington's newest cities, incorporated in 1995. However, the name dates back to the '40s when a school district was created, whose boundaries stretched from "Shore to Shore" ( Puget Sound to Lake Washington) and "Line to Line" (the old Seattle city limit of 85th St. to the Snohomish County Line).
