27 de mar. de 2024 · Trahaearn ap Caradog (d. 1081) Welsh prince, was according to the heralds (Lewis Dwnn, i. 266; "History of Powys Fadog", i. 72), the son of Caradog ap Gwyn ap Collwyn. Originally lord of Arwystli (the region around Llanidoles), he became in 1075, on the death of his cousin Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, ruler of the greater part of North Cymru.
Origine. Trahaearn était le fils d'un certain Caradog ap Gwyn et d'une fille anonyme de Maredudd ab Owain ou d'une sœur de Cynfyn ap Gwerstan car c'est comme « cousin » de Bleddyn ap Cynfyn [1], le précédent monarque de Gwynedd qu'il prend le pouvoir à la mort de ce dernier en 1075 [2], car ses fils n'étaient pas encore assez âgés pour monter sur le trône.
