This corrido praises the fact that the churches are now open after a brief period of their closure with the help of President Emilio Portes Gil. It praises the fact that one can get married through the church as well as the state.
Even the end of the Cristero rebellion produced a corrido to narrate how the Mexican government and the Catholic Church managed to come to an agreement, El Arreglo Religioso, which gives a summary of events that happened before and during the conflict.
