Plot. Peter Gibbons is a frustrated and unmotivated programmer who works at a Texas-based software company Initech. Unable to stand up to his overcritical girlfriend, Anne, he is in love with local waitress Joanna, but is afraid to speak to her.
Peter Gibbons is the protagonist of the film Office Space. He is portrayed by Ron Livingston. Peter begins the movie as a disgruntled software engineer at Initech who helps with 'updating the bank software for the 2000 switch' (in his own words).

Peter Gibbons is a computer programmer who despises his job at Initech and his annoying boss Bill Lumbergh. His coworkers and friends, Michael Bolton and Samir Nagheenanajar, also hate their jobs and are about to be laid off in a downsizing of the company.
