(July 31, 2017) New TV Anime To Adapt "Houshin Engi/Soul Hunter" - Continuing the anime news set to be revealed in the upcoming double issue of Young Jump, Ryu Fujisaki's 1996-2000 Chinese mythology-inspired Hoshin Engi aka Soul Hunter is set to be adapted into a new TV anime.
Soul Hunter. Hoshin Engi was adapted into an anime television series, titled Senkaiden Hōshin Engi (仙界伝 封神演義), produced by Studio Deen and directed by Junji Nishimura. The 26-episodes series was broadcast on TV Tokyo between July 3 and December 25, 1999.
Synopsis. Thousands of years ago, it was a time of witchcraft and dark magic. An evil sorceress has bewitched the emperor of the mighty dynasty and he has become a mindless puppet. The country is in shambles, and evil spirits lurk everywhere. The human world is on the verge of utter destruction.
