Artois (/ ɑːr ˈ t w ɑː / ar-TWAH, French:; Dutch: Artesië; Picard: Artoé; English adjective: Artesian) is a region of northern France. Its territory covers an area of about 4,000 km 2 and it has a population of about one million.

L’ Artois est une région historique de France et le nom d'un pays d'états héritier du comté du même nom, avant de devenir un gouvernement militaire du royaume de France de 1765 à 1789 sous l’ Ancien Régime, ayant pour capitale Arras, aujourd’hui principalement inclus dans le département du Pas-de-Calais.
